Whistleblowing Policy

Scope of Policy

The Private Museum Ltd. is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of honesty, transparency, ethical behaviour, legal conduct, and accountability. We are fully committed to strict compliance with accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, corporate governance, auditing standards, and any relevant legislation.

In keeping with this commitment, we offer this channel for individuals to report concerns related to malpractice, legal non-compliance, actual or suspected financial misconduct, or any other form of wrongdoing. Whistle­blowing enables individuals to raise genuine concerns regarding The Private Museum Ltd.

The issues which may be raised covers such following wrongdoings, although not limited to these:

  • Fraudulent activities or transactions;
  • Personal and professional misconduct;
  • Unauthorised access to and/or disclosure of sensitive information;
  • Embezzlement, misappropriation, theft, or criminal misuse of museum funds and resources;
  • Corruption, bribery, dishonesty;
  • Aiding and abetting illegal activities.

 

Confidentiality for the Whistleblower

The whistleblower will be safeguarded against any reprisals or victimisation for reporting concerns in good faith. This measure is intended to prevent misconduct and encourage high standards of financial integrity and corporate governance.

The Museum will not tolerate harassment or victimisation and will take steps to protect individuals who raise concerns in good faith, even if the concern is ultimately found to be unfounded. However, the Museum reserves the right to take action against individuals who provide false or misleading information.

To promote transparency and accountability, the Museum encourages the whistleblower to disclose their identity. The identity and any information shared in relation to the whistleblower will be handled with the utmost confidentiality. Under this policy, the whistleblower is required to submit the information in writing (or provide a signed statement) regarding the case.

Except under the most exceptional circumstances, anonymous claims will not be entertained. If a claim is received anonymously, the Chairman of the Museum’s Audit Committee will evaluate it based on its merits, nature, and the ability of the whistle blower to verify the claims. If the claim is deemed valid for further investigation, the same procedures will be followed, except that the whistleblower will not be notified of the outcome of the case. 

Exceptional circumstances under which information provided by the whistleblower could or would not be treated with strictest confidentiality include:

  • When the Museum is legally required to disclose the information provided;
  • When the information is already available in the public domain;
  • When the information is shared on a strictly confidential basis with legal or auditing professionals for the purpose of obtaining professional advice;
  • When the information is provided to the police or other authorities for a criminal investigation.

 

Misuse of Policy

This channel is not intended to address personal grievances, which should be raised through the Museum’s general enquiry email address. Frivolous, unfounded, or baseless claims will not be considered. The Museum does not tolerate the misuse of this channel for personal gain or with malicious intent.
