Gallery Assistant (Internship)

Duties & Responsibilities

Exhibition

  • Assist in organization of exhibitions
  • Assist in all aspects of support and management of exhibitions
  • Assist in the labelling of artworks
  • Information and data-gathering (Includes conducting research on Artists resume, curriculum vitae (CV), bio-data, reports and articles)

Events

  • Assist in organization of events (e.g. Opening reception, Artist talk) Public and Media Relations
  • Assist in drafting writing for media and publications (exhibition synopsis, press release, events listing, etc)
  • Assist in preparation of publications (writing, proof-reading, etc)
  • Assist in publicity and media liason Sales
  • Assist in sales of artworks

General

  • Report to your supervisor for duties and updates
  • Assist in the daily running of the Gallery
  • Provide updates on upcoming art events, exhibitions and auctions
  • Other ad-hoc duties which will be assigned accordingly

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a background in Arts Management, Fine Arts, or related disciplines. Students with relevant skills and past work experiences are also strongly encouraged to apply
  • Keen interest in visual arts
  • Candidate must be able to commit for minimum 3 months

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 7:00pm (lunch break should not exceed an hour)
  • May be required to assist on weekends
  • May be required to assist on some evenings for opening receptions

 

Gallery Assistant (Part-Time)
